Instalco has been contracted for heating & plumbing installations in Sturekvarteret in central Stockholm

The Instalco subsidiary, LG Contracting, has commenced an assignment related to heating & plumbing installations in parts of the renovation and redevelopment of Sturekvarteret in central Stockholm. The project is commissioned by Peab and Sturegallerian AB, with an order value of approximately SEK 130 million for Instalco.

Major revitalization and renovation work is being done at Sturekvarteret, in the Stureplan area of central Stockholm, involving both refurbishment and extensions. The project comprises the Sturegallerian shopping center with associated retail premises, office space as well as some of the residential units there.

“The Stureplan renovation is a complex project in a prime central Stockholm location, combining modern technical solutions with the careful maintenance of significant historic buildings. As part of the project, we will be installing a technologically advanced substation in the basement, with particular attention given to harmonising the installation with the building’s character,” says Patric Larzon, CEO at LG Contracting.

The heating solution for the shopping centre will combine district heating with heat pumps, while cooling will be provided through free cooling integrated with the district cooling network. To align with the building’s architecture, the solution includes both visible and hidden installations.

Sustainability, preservation, and reuse are also central elements of the project, alongside the historical conservation. The work has commenced, with completion expected in 2027.
