Two Instalco companies in joint assignment in central Stockholm

The Instalco companies Rörgruppen and Ohmegi have received an assignment to participate in the reconstruction of Sergelhuset at Sergels torg, the most central public square in Stockholm.

The plumbing works of Rörgruppen and electrical installations of Ohmegi will be carried out under a contract from NCC, with Vasakronan as the proprietor. The assignment comprises a part of the Hästskon 12 block, also named Sergelhuset (“the Sergel house”). The combined order value amounts to SEK 54 million.

The blocks surrounding Sergels torg are currently undergoing a large transformation. The properties that were built in the 1960s will be renovated to modern standard comprising offices, hotels, residentials and commercial premises. The new area will continue to be characterised by its modernistic vision but will be developed into an active city environment and meeting place.

“We are happy to have received continued trust to perform important installations for NCC. In this case, we contribute to the development of a more modern, safer and active area in the very centre of Stockholm”, says Göran Johnsson, CEO of Rörgruppen.

The work, which comprises 28,000 square meters, will start in the autumn of 2018 and be completed during the summer of 2020.

“This is a project that works in favour of the development of the society with technical installations in one of the top locations of Stockholm. Ohmegi and Rörgruppen will together with NCC and Vasakronan create a sustainable building that will achieve LEED Platina certification, which is one of the most distinguished environmental certifications there is for properties”, says Fredrik Ifwer, CEO of Ohmegi.
