Voltmen strengthens its expertise in electric mobility charging infrastructure

Finland’s charging network has expanded rapidly. The electrification of transport continues at a strong pace, with the next major step being the electrification of heavy-duty transport. This development brings significantly higher power requirements, more complex system configurations and increasing demands on grid management. The Instalco subsidiary Voltmen is responding to this trend by strengthening its team.

Voltmen recently employed an expert in this area – Markus Roiha. Markus brings deep knowledge of how charging equipment operates, including its technical characteristics, lifecycle and reliability. Previously employed by an equipment supplier, he was responsible for ensuring the functionality of fast-charging systems across the Nordic region. In that role, he worked closely with service, commissioning, technical support and system development teams, gaining a comprehensive understanding of DC charging systems, their structure, critical components and operational performance.

This expertise complements Voltmen’s experience in electrification and electrical contracting, enabling the company to design, commission and maintain larger, industrial-scale DC charging solutions. Markus therefore represents not only an expansion into DC fast charging services, but above all a strengthening of Voltmen’s capabilities in managing the entire lifecycle of charging infrastructure.

“I enjoy working in a practical and hands-on way. I try to understand how even the smallest components function and how they influence larger systems. It is important to me that users’ needs are taken into account, particularly during product design. At Voltmen, I see the opportunity to combine strong electrical contracting expertise with a deep understanding of DC charging technology. I believe I can help Voltmen build a strong competence area focused on DC charging solutions as part of the company’s overall service offering,” says Markus Roiha.

“Voltmen has delivered DC fast-charging systems nationwide since 2018 for a major company operating in the market. We have strong experience in building and commissioning these systems. Markus adds a highly relevant and important dimension from a lifecycle perspective: deep expertise in service, fault diagnostics and the coordination of maintenance,” says Jussi Nurminen, CEO of Voltmen.

In DC charging systems, identifying the root cause of faults is critical, as downtime directly affects the customer’s operations. Markus approaches these challenges systematically, with a lifecycle perspective. The aim is not only to resolve faults, but to ensure long-term operational reliability.
