Instalco wins contract to participate in the expansion of Falu Hospital

The Instalco companies, Henningsons El, Dalab and Intec have been jointly engaged for work associated with the renovation and expansion of the intensive care unit at Falu Hospital. The work includes design and installation, with a total order value of approximately SEK 140 million.

It is a partnering project together with ByggDialog, Regionfastigheter Dalarna and other partners. Instalco is responsible for the electrical installations (Henningsons), ventilation (Dalab) and design (Intec). Environmental responsibility is a key element of the project, which will be achieved through energy-efficient solutions.

“We have extensive experience with these types of projects at Instalco and can offer the customer a complete product, from design to installation. The collaboration model behind these types of partnering projects also enables us to propose the most sustainable, energy-saving solutions,” says Johan Larsson, Business Area Manager for Instalco North.

This assignment strengthens Instalco’s position as a leader in electrical, heating & plumbing installations for hospital construction projects in Sweden.

Above the existing emergency room, six new floors will be added with rooms for care, X-ray, laboratory medicine, intensive care and oncology. The emergency room will be up and running throughout the construction period, which puts high demands on planning, coordination, logistics and patient safety. New construction will add 11,000 sq. m. in addition to renovation of 2,000 sq. m. in the existing building.

Planning and design have been underway since fall 2021 and the implementation phase started during fall 2022. The project is expected to be completed during 2025. Instalco’s total order value for the project of approximately SEK 140 million includes the design work that has already been completed along with the planned installation work.

The aim is to certify the project as a Sustainable Instalco Project.
