ORAB signs contract for BillerudKorsnäs’ expansion

Instalco’s subsidiary ORAB Entreprenad AB has been awarded the assignment to deliver piping installations as part of the expansion of BillerudKorsnäs’ production unit Gruvön in Grums, outside Karlstad. ORAB’s contract has an order value of approx. SEK 40 million.

The project is expected to start in January 2018.

BillerudKorsnäs has taken the decision to expand its papermill Gruvön with a new board machine. ORAB has been awarded the assignment for the Brown Field project, which comprise a rebuilding of the existing facility to adapt to the new board production.

The investment in the expansion of the Gruvön papermill is the largest so far in the history of BillerudKorsnäs. The expansion is made on the back of an increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions. The investment amounts to SEK 5.7 billion and includes the construction of a new board machine and rebuilding of the existing pulp mill. The new board machine has an annual capacity of 550,000 tonnes, making it one of the largest of its kind in the world.
